LA-MAN® has developed several patented products, which have made
them a trusted and well recognised name in their field.
The Golden Gate Bridge, General Foods, Lockheed Martin,
and Thermal Dynamics as well as any number of paint spray
and vehicle body shops, shot-blast applications and general
engineering locations are just a few of the many different
companies and applications using LA-MAN® products. Manufactured
in Port Orange, Florida, LA-MAN® products have been
distributed and marketed by Airware International Ltd for
many years. The advantage of the LA-MAN® is that it
is simple to understand, easy to install and more important,
it does what it claims to do – removes liquid and
cleans compressed air.

How
it Works:
1. Compressed air containing tiny particles of dirt, dust,
oil, rust and moisture enters the first stage of the Extractor/Dryer®.
2. A coalescing effect occurs as air passes through a cartridge
mesh filter that captures larger particles and causes moisture
to form larger droplets.
3. Air velocity lessens as it enters the extraction chamber
allowing particles to collect and moisture to condense on
the honeycomb.
4. Particle laden water flows along the bottom and out the
drain.
5. Air passes through the second stage wire supported fibre
filter cartridge that captures remaining particles down
to 5 microns.
6. Remaining moisture and contaminants are dried and filtered
in the second stage filter.
7. Exhaust air is clean and dry - no dirt, rust, oil or
water drops to disrupt air equipment operation.

GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE
One of the biggest paint jobs in the world--and probably
the toughest! Keeping the structural steel and wire cables
of San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge covered with a protective
coating of its distinctive orange paint is a monumental
job for the permanent crew of painters, ironworkers and
operating engineers. Like all paint jobs, big or small,
surface preparation is the key to quality. Golden Gates
painters use a compressed-air operated abrasive blasting
system to remove oxidised, loose and chipped paint prior
to apply a new coat.

Compressed
air-operated blasting equipment running in top condition
requires the air to be treated at the point of use, just
before it reaches the hand-held blasters, To help overcome
water and oil problems in compressed air lines, engineers
installed a LA-MAN® air filtration system at the point
of use of the shot-blasters. The system is made up of five
LA-MAN® Model 180 Extractor/Dryers®, mounted semi-permanently
on the bridge. And now you know the secret of why it is
that the most famous bridge in the world always looks so
good !
